My Totally Useless SAL

It is time to show my progress on my Totally Useless SAL Once a month on the New Moon we post a pic of our progress. Read about it here on Yoyo's blog, Dragon My Needle I don't have a January picture as I joined late. For lack of a container, I decided to use this fish bowl that is sitting on my mantle (minus a fish). I purchased this cute bowl years ago at KMart. I have been working hard on this , At least I don't have as many orts wrapped around my vacumn cleaner brush and I don't have them stuck to my clothes. LOL I got quite a pile the other day, I was stitching on a St. Patricks Biscornu for my swap partner and stitched a pot of gold way off center. Arghh! It seems like when I have deadlines to meet, this happens.

Happy New Year

I wish everyone a Happy New Year and the best of everything in the coming year.
I have had a pretty busy holiday week. I haven't done much stitching because I have been working nights.

I have joined in on a SAL for Beatrix Potter Sampler. I wasn't exactly sure what fabric and flosses I wanted to use. My first choice was 28 count Lavender Lugana that I have in my stash. I went to LSN searching for some silks that would okay. I selected a darker purple and stitched a small sample. I really didn't like the way it turned out. I wanted to pick colors that I wouldn't get tired off and I wanted something that really stood out. I decided on 28 count antique ivory Jobelan and I DMC 352 for the floss.

This SAL starts on January 1 and lasts all year so I am hopeful to finish it. I will post monthly updates
of my progress.



I have also joined several swaps so January will be a fun and busy month.

Biscornu Finish

Okay I am finally going to enter my first post.
Today has been a pretty mellow day. With the day off from work and home alone with Buffy and Abbey I finished up a biscornu that I stitched for Elaine for a swap.
It is actually my fist major try at biscornus. I just love them and am definitely going to be stitching many more.
When Elaine receives it I will post pictures.

This is the biscornu that Elaine sent me. It is a bee design from Barbara Ana. I just love it. It is my first biscornu just for me. Thanks so much Elaine.




This is my progress on Miribilia's Enchanted Mermaid.
I started it quite a while ago and it turned into a UFO. I have joined a UFO SAL in one of my groups. It continues through the month of September.
So we will see how much of her is completed. Also some of my co-workers want to see her finished. I will have a lot of support to keep me motivated.




This is a darling Christmas the I received from Georgene in the Garden Ornament Swap. I love the bunny and the little bird. It is going to look great on my tree. Hugs Georgene!



I just got word that my recipient, Wyn from the Garden Ornament Exchange has received the ornament I stitched for her. So I guess it is okay to post it. It is a mini quaker ornament from Miladies Needle.
I stitched it on 32 count linen with DMC floss. The fabric has little gold flecks in it.
The scanner didn't pick up too much sparkle. I attached gold beading all around for accent.
