A Bit Of October

Lizzie Kate "A Bit of October"
28 Ct Linen DMC Floss
I finished up another pumpkin pillow today. This one is A Bit Of October by LK. I kind of liked the colors as they were a little different from traditional.

I was at JoAnnes to pick up some stash and found this fabric. I hadn't stitched up the design yet and didn't have anything to go by but I was hoping it would be perfect. I am happy the way it turned out although the pumpkin has a purple mouth. I couldn't think of any other color to use so there you go lol.

Small buttons were supposed to be sewn on the corn but these were the smallest ones I could find. I left them off the corn and stitched them on the pillow instead.

I also finished another Biscornu for an exchange. I will post it when it has arrived at it's new home. I am still working to finish up Red House In Winter by LHN. I really want to get it finished so I can start on the next LHN ornament. I have 6 of them stitched but still need to finish them into ornaments. One of these days I keep thinking I will gather them all up and get them done.

Another Boo

HE BOO
32 Ct. Hand Dyed Fabric
DMC & Crescent Colors
10/04/2010
I saw this cute design  and just knew I had to stitch one up for my collection. I found a scrap of 32 count fabric in my stash. After I stitched everything but the pumpkin, I was thinking it needed a little color so I stitched him with a Crescent Colors orange and added a green stem.

The fabric is more of a tan or beige color than in the picture. I found some spider web fabric with little pumpkins to finish it up. I added some orange ribbon and sewed on a black button to dress it up. The backing fabric is orange. I sewed another black button on the back to attach the ribbon hanger.

I had an exchange to get in the mail today, so I didn't get much stitching done. I made a stop at Hobby Lobby and picked up some buttons and ribbons. Then home to cook an early supper so Bob could go to work and now I have to clean up the kitchen and then I will be free to stitch on Red House. WooHoo!

Busy Days and Late Nights

I think it is about time for an update.

It has been a hard time on my job, seems like I am there more hours than I am at home even though I am only scheduled to work 4 days a week. The weeks have been overlapping and I have worked two seven day stretches with only one day off in between. Three days one day off three days one day off.

I have still managed to stitch and finish a few autumn and Halloween things. I have stitched Glory Bees Halloween Trio and have the perfect fabric picked out for the backing. Just need to get every thing together and finish them up into ornies. I added beads to spruce them up a little and I like the way they turned out.

I finally finished my JBW Pumpkin. I found the glitzy fabric at Hancock's. I thought it would suit the design better than the orange print that I had originally selected. I took Yoyo's advice on that as too much orange being over kill.

I have been shopping and buying ribbons, buttons, fabric and stickers. Hobby Lobby had their 50% off sale on Halloween and Thanksgiving. I bought a cute little basket for my Ornaments and I found the cute little pumpkin jar.

I finished the Pumpkin into an ornament. I thought about whether to add a hanger or not and decided against it. It will look cute in my basket. I added a green bow and a cute sunflower button. to give it some color.

I am taking a break and than back to finishing up these goodies.
PS I think the images are clickable.

Pumpkin Anyone

Wow! I am really in the autumn mode nowadays. I have been going through my stash looking for Halloween and Thanksgiving designs. They are such colorful and fun stitches. I finished stitching JBW's Pumpkin a couple days ago.

A coworker, Brittany really likes it and says please make me one to hang on my wall. Now you know I am not really a great fan of stitching a design more than once and I sure do not want to part with it. Woe is me--what to do?

I am open for suggestions on how to finish it.
A frame, which most definitely would be hard to find.
A pillow maybe (I have a piece of orange fabbie that looks great with it.
A tuck wall hanging like I finished my July Sings?

Well, I am off to fix supper. Fixin' a meat loaf, yellow squash, sliced tomatoes
from the Topsy Turvy and some good old smashed taters.
