Sun Oh Sun Where Art Thou?

We have been having rain and colder temperatures the past few days. It is better than snow and ice, but I am waiting on some sunshine..
I went to LNS to pick up a couple skeins DMC. Big mistake. I have been wanting Blackbird Designs Pumpkin Time. I just love the colors in this design. Guess what I came home with?
They also had a basket with discontinued colors of Weeks Dye Works. I got 18 skeins for $4.00.

I have a little progress on Sixteen Birds by Karen Kluba of Rosewood Manor. I put Real Roses away for a while so I wouldn't get burned out on it.

 I am stitching on something for a gift. I cannot show a picture or say what it is or who it is for because I think the recipient might read my blog. I am also going to see if I can get another band finished on this one.
I am setting more goals for February.  I really would like to stitch at least one Valentine design. I would also like to finish one of my Fifteen Challenges.

Buffy and Abbey have two beds but this is the one they fight over. Neither one will sleep in the other one. Abbey settled in for a long nap while Buffy was looking so sad.

No I Did Not and A Red House

No I did not stitch the darling pumpkins in my header. I went searching for a pumpkin picture and found this one. I agree they are so cute and I really wish I could take credit for them.

My fur babies sit and watch down the road when it is time for me to come home from work. They are so precious. They normally don't get this close, least ways not when I am home. I think there is a little sibling rivalry lol.

I have been stitching on LHN Red House in Winter today. I have made quite a bit of progress.  Hopefully I will finish it tomorrow. I am trying to get caught up with these ornaments. This one seems to be the most detailed one left to do.

I took the pictures with my phone cause it is dark outside. They turned out okay but just noticed the tree trunk is a little crooked, maybe there is a north wind blowing. lol.
I am off to see if I can get the house finished before I call it a night.

Stitchy Progress and Withdrawal Symptoms

I have really surprised myself with the amount of stitching I have accomplished in one day.

I have completed one exchange and finished it into an ornament and got it in the mail. Just met the deadline (wiping sweat off brow)

I was going to say I would show pictures in a few days when my partner receives it, but we are getting a new internet provider and will probably be off line until Monday the 7th. Don't ask me how I am going to survive but in the end I will be able to surf much faster and at a cheaper rate.

I am absolutely sure that there will be withdrawal symptoms, cranky, irritable, impossible to live with and work with lol. This is the season to be jolly though, I will try to be nice. I will still be able to read my email on my Blackberry and visit blogs.


I have almost completed the alphabet border on Miss Abbey's ornament.I am going to find a good movie to watch and snuggle up with my snuggy. If I get the border finished, the rest should be fast and easy. I am stitching it on 32 ct. which is more of a blue color than the bright green in the model...her tail is gray and one ear is gray, I am thinking of changing the color white. I will see how it looks.

It is only 5:30 and dark outside. I will have to use my magnifier lamp so I can see what I am stitching.

Carolina Classic and TUSAL

TUSAL for November

I am finally getting around to posting. There has been quite a bit going on and have been waiting to be able to get some good pics. Every time I have a day off it is cloudy and during the week I just can't get motivated enough to get the camera out. Shame on me.

First Picture is for Yoyo. I am late as usual. The new moon comes way too fast. She was wanting to see a picture of my black cat fish bowl for the TUSAL. Abbey always has to get in the picture cause she thinks she is the number one cat, lol.

I have been stitching on exchanges and trying to figure out how in the heck I am going to make everything I want to do before Christmas. I keep oohing and awing over all the new designs that I see and I have quite a collection. Most are small simple stitches but still I don't think I will survive. lol. I am already sinking.

I did get to go to the Carolina Classic Craft Show at the fairgrounds yesterday. We spent four hours there. They had 2 buildings and lots of great stuff.

They only had one cross stitch booth but a lot of other crafts etc. I bought some magnets and a treat bowl for Abbey. Also a cupcake soap.

Trying to get a picture and caught two nosy babies. I don't know what they are looking for. Nothing to eat there. lol

I just love this one. Got it for Buffy, when she wants a treat she keeps getting louder and louder if I ignore her. Which I most always do because she hasn't eaten her food first.

Blogtoberfest day 6

There is not much going on today. Me and Abbey just hanging out. Took this picture of her, she just woke up from her cat nap.

I did a little stitching today on the Needle Book exchange for Tiny Treasures Too. I really need to get a head start as it has quite a ways to travel. I am hoping I like the way it will look, the colors are kind of strange.

I have been searching and looking at the different tutorials for Needle Books. I have never actually finished one and am kind of debating on which way to go. Guess I will stitch the design first and then go from there.

I finished two of the Glory Bee Trios but got to feeling a little bad and I am going to put off doing the third as I was sure I would mess up if I kept going.

I took pics but don't like the way they turned out. The fabric I stitched them on is a dark khaki and the colors were washed out. Guess I will try again before I post pictures. Abbey and I are having a bad hair day, lol.

Tomorrow is another day.

Totally Useless SAL Progress

It is that time of the month again (the New Moon) to post my progress on The Totally Useless SAL

I have made a little progress, but my bowl not runneth over yet, lol. Miss Abbey wanted to be in the picture. She is getting to be quite the model.

I have been very busy stitching and finishing a few things this past week . I have plenty of pictures to post and will do so tomorrow. I have one more night to work and will be off the weekend. I am off now to get my Tiny Treasures Biscornu in the mail. It has a long way to travel to get to it's new home.

Prairie Schooler Exchange Has Arrived

The snowman that I stitched for Wendy in Canada has finally arrived in his new home. This was for the February Prairie Schooler Exchange I stitched this freebie on 28 ct. Lambswool from Wichelt Imports and finished it into a pillow ornament. I added a border around it because to me it looked so plain. I am glad that Wendy likes it.

I really had a few problems with this exchange. I originally started to stitch Two by Two that was in the 1998 JSC Ornament Issue. I really liked the design of a pair of deer in a winter scene. I was about half finished and began stitching the second deer that was behind the first one which was stitched with DMC 611. The deer behind was DMC 3781. The colors were very similar and you couldn't tell where one started and the other
ended. I didn't feel like frogging out the whole thing so I tossed it aside, maybe I can figure something out later and finish it cause I really like the design. Lesson learned, take time to do a floss toss before beginning.
Then I stitched the January design from A Prairie Year. When I finished it, I didn't like the way it looked, so voila! The Snowman.


Miss Abbey was in sleepy mood, you can tell by her eyes cause I woke her up. LOL. Well we are off to do our daily hour of stitching before heading off to work. Two more days (or nights) and then I have my day off. I won't get too much done then as I have a few errands to run. I have to go to the Social Security office which is in the Strom Thurmond Building in Columbia. I am definitely not looking forward to this. I am so happy though cause I am officially retired. YEAH! I am going to start working part time as soon as I have my next vacation. Then on to MORE stitching time.
