The Last One

I am finally finished with Please Pass the Biscornu. I managed to stitch a biscornu for everyone in the exchange. Two stitchers dropped out and one didn't stitch one for me in return. Which means I came out three short.

All in all though I received some beautiful biscornus and love my collection. Thanks everyone who sent me these gems.

I am happy to be finished stitching biscornus for a while. There are a lot of designs out there that I would love to add to my collection and you can be sure that they will be stitched for me. I have at least 16 of them and they are all exchanges. (In the past 2 years) I think I need at least one that I can say that I stitched and finished. lol.

This one I stitched for Sheila. She has received it and says she likes it.

I thought I would share with you the biscornu that I received from Sheila. It is one of my favorites. I love the turquoise floss and the design she used.  I received this beauty back in January. She also sent along some Crescent Colors.

I have started stitching on LHN Frosty Flake and  I am making some progress. I still need to sit down at the sewing machine and do some finishing.

I have finished Full Moon. I really had fun with this one, though I did get kind of tired of the black tree.

I wanted to finish it like the suggested finish so I went in search of purple felt and black bead trim. I couldn't find the lighter color felt but I think I like the bright purple better after all.

I had bead trim in my stash but not black so I was afraid I wasn't going to find it. I just didn't relish the thought of stitching one bead at a time, lol. JoAnn's didn't let me down. WooHoo!

I received this lovely biscornu from Marjorie for the Please Pass the Biscornu Exchange.
I just love it as I am a La D Da fan. She did a fabulous job, her stitching is exquisite as is her finishing.
The over dyed floss she selected is such a pretty fall color, it reminds me of the leaves that are beginning to fall in my yard.

Mystery Stitch
For an Exchange

I started stitching this design for someone that should have been finished by the 1st of the month, but I got so involved with my Halloween stitching I just didn't get it done. I am hoping to have it finished by Monday (oh my goodness, that is tomorrow) Hmmmmmm I am going to have to get my needles flying. lol.

I am happy to say that this Biscornu made it thru the mail system! Is that a miracle or what?
I stitched this one for Michelle The Shabby Stitcher.

It was a fun stitch and worked up fast and easy. I think I might do some more stitching along this type of design.

I finished reading "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" and I am going to finish watching the movie tonight. I am glad I read the book first so it is easier to follow what is going on.  I fell asleep on it this afternoon.  It is in Swedish and has English subtitles. I am about half way through the second book "The Girl Who Played With Fire".

There is not much going on here tonight, I am alone with the fur babies. I am trying to finish up LHN Winter Sheep ornament. I started it at work last night on my break.

I am using 30 ct Straw from R&R and Dmc Floss.
It seems it is going to be a fast stitch cause I did this much in 30 Minutes.I am about 4 behind now. I really need to get caught up if I am going to have them done by Christmas.

I also need to get out the sewing machine and do something with my Fourth of July Bird. I have the backing fabric picked out and ready to finish. I added the red and blue star buttons because I couldn't tackle the crazy star stitch on the pattern lol.

Elizabethan Needle Cushion

I have received my biscornu for May from Michelle .

She stitched for me a design from Shepherd's Bush "Elizabethan Needle Cushion".  I love the pastel colors of the flowers and the heart button. The beads really make it extra pretty.

The back is just as beautiful as the front with the sweet pea colored flowers and beads. I love Shepherd's Bush designs and this is the first one in my collection.

I am the proud owner of this beautiful biscornu stitched for me by Sheila.
This is for Please Pass the Biscornu a year long exchange. This is for January so by the end of the year, I should have a very beautiful collection.

She chose a butterfly design from Alexandria's blog. She added Mill Hill Beads to match. I love the pastel colors. Both of our initials are stitched on the other side.

She also sent me three skeins of Crescent Colors floss which I am so happy to receive.

I am happy to say that I have met all my deadlines. I have finished my scissor holder for Tiny Treasures Too, My biscornu for Shay and am doing the final finishing on my H.A.G.S ornament for Annette. All will go in the mail Tomorrow.

And I have started stitching my LHN Pear Tree. I am really loving it so I will be dedicated to it until I finish.

I have also designed a simple Valentine ornament and want to stitch and finish it so I can share it with you all.

Biscornus On the Double

Today is stitching Thursday for Our Friends' HAED SAL. I have actually started stitching on Sunset by Rachel Anderson. You can see the picture in my previous post or click on the link. I am going to be stitching with DMC 796 and 3760 for quite awhile, lol. I am stitching on 25 count antique white Lugana. I hope to get a few blocks done today.

I stitched these 2 biscornus for Swapbot. My partner for both swaps was Doreen.She has received them so it is okay to show pictures. The one on the left was for a Red Biscornu. I chose a design from My Aunt's Attic I used DMC variegated floss. The design is reversed on the back.The one on the right is a Saint Patrick's Biscornu. It is the March Design by Helga Mandl. I stitched it on a lime green fabric that I hand dyed. It is a cute design, I added gold beads for the gold in the pots.

I also found a cute bag at Walmart with shamrocks on it. I added the biscornu and some ST Paddy buttons and tied it up.
I am off to get some stitching done.

Dragonflies Arriving

I am now the very proud owner of a Dragonfly Biscornu. Aury designed this biscornu for me for the Tiny Treasures Exchange It is so beautiful and dainty. I simply love it! She used the colors from my blog so she knew I like lavender. The dragonflies are awesome and so beautifully stitched. I also like starfish and she used the cutest starfish buttons, lavender on the front and mint green on the back.

She also sent a Hummingbird pattern that she designed and included the floss to stitch it. I hope you don't mind Aury, I got the picture from your blog so I could show what a cute design it is.



I really have to squeeze this into my schedule and stitch it up. A million hugs and kisses Aury you are the greatest!

A New Biscornu

I received a package in the mail Saturday all the way from Australia from Robyn for a Swapbot Exchange from the Yahoo Biscornu Group. It sure cheered up a gloomy day. We have had foggy rainy weather for three days. I wasn't sure if I could get a picture that would show the beautiful Biscornu that Robyn stitched for me. She chose a design from My Aunt's Attic She used floss in shades of rosy pink and brown. The back is a rosy pink. It is so pretty and I am proud to add it to my collection.
She also sent a cute card with little mice on it ( I don;t remember what they are called) a post card of beautiful Australia and a pewter Cat Bookmark. It looks like my Miss Abbey and I simply love it. Thank you so much Robyn.

I am finally going to have some time for myself today (and tomorrow). It has been a busy week at work and such crazy hours, i am exhausted when I get home.





I can't wait to get home and do some stitching and some finishing on a few ornaments. When I do get home it is dark and even though I have my Ott Light and magnifer, my eyes refuse to focus.




I found this Santa that I stitched a while back It is from one of the JSC Ornament Issues. I put it in a gold frame and will stand it on the fireplace mantle.




I finished another biscornu. It is for Dee, my partner in a swap. I thought the house design was cute. I stitched it on 18 count Aida, which I normally don't use. It was a freebie from Batty Bat. I used Crescent Colors Manor Red and added some beads. It turned out to be smaller than usual because of the smaller count, but very cute.

Now for an update on my 12 Days of Christmas.

I haven't made much progress, but I still have hopes of finishing. I spent quite a bit of time searching for DMC 924 so I could stitch the few stitches on the partridge. For some reason this is one color that I never can find in my floss. I finally found a card with a few yards on it.
No matter how I try I can't seem to keep my floss organized . I have tried several different organizers but, give up on the time it takes. I would rather spend my time stitching. lol.
Most of the time I just go buy new floss. Probably why I have 999 million skeins
I am going to finish this one up today and my goal is to stitch the 2 Turtle Doves today. By the way I don't think this one has 924 in it. I am going to think of ways to finish these up into ornaments while I am stitching. Any Suggestions?

Biscornu Finish

Okay I am finally going to enter my first post.
Today has been a pretty mellow day. With the day off from work and home alone with Buffy and Abbey I finished up a biscornu that I stitched for Elaine for a swap.
It is actually my fist major try at biscornus. I just love them and am definitely going to be stitching many more.
When Elaine receives it I will post pictures.

This is the biscornu that Elaine sent me. It is a bee design from Barbara Ana. I just love it. It is my first biscornu just for me. Thanks so much Elaine.




This is my progress on Miribilia's Enchanted Mermaid.
I started it quite a while ago and it turned into a UFO. I have joined a UFO SAL in one of my groups. It continues through the month of September.
So we will see how much of her is completed. Also some of my co-workers want to see her finished. I will have a lot of support to keep me motivated.




This is a darling Christmas the I received from Georgene in the Garden Ornament Swap. I love the bunny and the little bird. It is going to look great on my tree. Hugs Georgene!



I just got word that my recipient, Wyn from the Garden Ornament Exchange has received the ornament I stitched for her. So I guess it is okay to post it. It is a mini quaker ornament from Miladies Needle.
I stitched it on 32 count linen with DMC floss. The fabric has little gold flecks in it.
The scanner didn't pick up too much sparkle. I attached gold beading all around for accent.
