Frosty Fun and Two Free Days

Oh Happy Day! I have the next two days off and you know what that means. two days of stitching and finishing up a few things. Maybe starting another.

I have several things I really want to have done by Christmas. I have a few Little House designs that I would like to stitch up. They are in previous JCS Ornament issues.

Then there is the ornament with the white cat ( A Cat in Snowman's Clothing by Hillside Samplings) that I want to stitch for Miss Abbey. I went to the LSN to purchase the perfect fabric for it and it is really calling me.

I am finishing my Prairie Schooler Exchange for my partner today and sending it on it's way.

I have received my Year Long Prairie Schooler Exchange from Marie P. She stitched for me the design "Frosty Fun" from the JCS 2009 ornament issue.

She did a beautiful job stitching and finishing it. The back has a pretty green and red holly print that really compliments the colors in the design and the cording is awesome.

I really liked this design when I saw it in the new issue and so now I am the very happy and lucky owner of this beautiful ornament stitched by Marie.

Have a great day everyone!

A Prairie Schooler Eagle Takes Flight

Sheril has received the exchange I stitched for her so it is okay to show you the pictures. This was for round #3 in the Year Long Prairie Schooler Exchange. I had fun stitching this design, I like the bright red white and blue colors. I was originally going to finish it into a small pillow because I thought it was going to be larger than it turned out.

I stitched it on a piece of 28 ct. fabric that I hand dyed. I think it compliments the DMC colors perfectly.

Prairie Schooler # 91
Summer & Winter
(July)

There are other designs in this leaflet that I would like to stitch. I especially like the November one. Maybe I will find time to do it.

I have put Berry Time aside for the next week as I just have to get some progress done on Beatrix Potter by the end of the month.
I am also working on my PIFs. Gotta get them done. The clock is ticking-ticking-ticking.

I have finished my JBW Pumpkin and am deciding what to do with it.

Sharing A New Ornament

I am now the proud owner of an ornament stitched by Leah for the Prairie Schooler Exchange. She selected an older bookmark freebie to stitch for me and made it into an ornament. I love the colors (she mentioned that it reminded her of spring and I totally agree with her). She backed it with a pastel yellow and green plaid fabric that is a perfect match. I love it so much, thanks Leah.

Back To Work and Prairie Schooler

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving,
It was a beautiful day here in sunny South Carolina.
My neice had to work so we had a late dinner.

I really enjoyed staying home and watching the Thanksgiving Day parade.
I only have 3 more hours and I have to be at work. It has been fun staying home and being lazy, sigh.

A lot can change in 10 days , it seems like the rules change every day on the job. New things going on and different way to do things. I will have some catching up to do, I am sure.

I have always wanted to stitch the 12 Days of Christmas Ornaments.
I have started several sets from different designers but some are so detailed that I just felt it wasn't worth the effort. I have found  The TwelveDays of Christmas by The Prairie Schooler.

When stitched individually, they are 40 x 40 stitches.  There are no half stitches or backstitching. Not too many color changes. I think I may be able to get them done in time for Christmas.
